Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to move materials within the explosives process in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can confirm that the equipment to be used is in a safe and functional condition, deal promptly with any problems that arise, reporting any that you cannot solve in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes those working as test and evaluation, manufacturing, maintenance, disposal and general explosives operators.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 confirm that you have the required materials
P3 prepare the materials correctly for transfer and/or use in the processing
P4 confirm that the equipment to be used is in a safe and functional condition
P5 deal promptly with any problems that arise, reporting any that you cannot solve
P6 dispose of waste in accordance with your organization’s procedures
P7 transfer unused materials to designated areas for reprocessing, storage or disposal, and label accordingly
P8 complete correctly the required documentation
