Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to establish the performance criteria for explosive substances and/or articles in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can ensure that the technical requirements are understood and specified, obtaining sufficient information to understand the customer’s objectives in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as research, design and development and test and evaluation managers and supervisors.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 obtain sufficient information to understand the customer’s objectives
P3 identify or confirm the identity and condition of explosive substances or articles
P4 ensure that the technical requirements are understood and specified
P5 determine how your organization can respond to the requirements in terms of workload and resources
P6 characterise the hazards pertaining to the test or trial
P7 quantify the risks of the test or trial
P8 record information in accordance with organizational procedures
P9 check and obtain agreement that the requirements are interpreted correctly
P10 adhere to the relevant quality standards
P11 maintain the requirements of confidentiality at all times
