Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to contribute to confirming the presence of munition(s) in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can pinpoint and mark the position of the potential munition(s) to such proximity as to enable confirmation, reporting or challenge inconsistencies or anomalies of information in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as munitions clearance operators.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with relevant health and safety, environmental and other regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 manage hazards effectively
P3 contribute to the selection and correct use of appropriate resources and equipment
P4 gain safe access to the potential munition(s) by the optimum means
P5 define/mark the route
P6 pinpoint and mark the position of the potential munition(s) to such proximity as to enable confirmation

P8 take prompt, corrective action in the event of problems arising
P9 communicate progress to colleagues
