Working Together To Improve Safety For Explosives Workers
SQA and ISSEE Ltd announce a unique partnership which will allow explosives workers to gain academically accredited qualifications. Training will be delivered by ISSEE to the internationally recognised UK National Occupational Standards for Explosives Substances and Articles (NOS ESA).
ISSEE has a strong reputation for delivering explosives related training reaching across a wide spectrum of activity. Established in 2001, the company has delivered training to support de-mining operations for NGOs working in war affected nations, the safe handling, storage and management of ammunition and explosives for Government and commercial organisations across both UK and Internationally and specialised projects in support of the fight against terrorism.
The initial range of qualifications are shown below and have been prioritised to allow the awards to be offered to successful students attending our training courses in August and September 2018.
We have also completed our work on the following courses, and these will be available, to students attending the next series of training courses at ISSEE. Details will be updated on our website as they are confirmed.

We are also close to finishing work on ISSEE’s flagship course: International Ammunition Technician. This 24-week duration, comprehensive, modular training package covers all aspects of ammunition and explosives safety, management and disposal. This should be ready for Award by February 2019.
Working with the Scottish Qualification Authority to deliver awards within the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework underlines ISSEE’s commitment to retaining the highest possible reputation for delivering accredited training. Together there is a real opportunity for both individual workers and employers across the explosives industry to gain and recognise fully accredited training to support safe working, duty of care and career progression.
