Providing academically accredited Counter Terrorism, Explosives and Security training
ISSEE continues to work in a unique partnership with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and has recently expanded the list of SQA-accredited courses to include the whole range of core training courses.
The SQA began working with ISSEE in September 2018, when they placed Explosives Storage Management and Security training courses on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF), formally allocating SCQF levels and credits to these qualifications.
Since then, ISSEE’s offer has grown to encompass a comprehensive range of courses including certificates in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD levels 1–2), Improvised Explosive Device Disposal, Counter Terrorist Search and Post Blast Scene Management as well as diplomas in High Risk Search and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD level 3).
We have also launched our flagship course: International Ammunition Technician. This 24-week duration, comprehensive, modular training package covers all aspects of ammunition and explosives safety, management and disposal.
Working with the awarding body enables ISSEE to give explosives workers academic recognition for their competencies in the explosives field. Certifications are essential for those who wish to develop their careers towards professional registration in the industry and ISSEE is committed to retaining the highest possible reputation for delivering accredited training.
ISSEE is in the process of adding further courses to the SCQF framework, including Weapons Technical Intelligence (WTI) and Explosive Storage & Area Management (ESAM), which will become part of the offer later this year or early 2020.
ISSEE is also working with the Institute of Explosive Engineers (IExpE) to endorse and further highlight the high academic quality of our training courses.
