Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to supervise the unloading of explosive substances and articles from the vehicle by others in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can ensure that you have the correct transport and consignment documentation ensuring, that any special requirements for unloading are addressed in accordance with approved procedures.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as storage and transport supervisors and transport operators.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 ensure that you have the correct transport and consignment documentation
P3 ensure that the vehicle is correctly prepared for unloading
P4 ensure that any special requirements for unloading are addressed
P5 ensure that the correct safety equipment is available, and that it is fit for purpose
P6 ensure that the unloading area is suitable and safe
P7 ensure that the vehicle is in a suitable position for unloading
P8 identify any problems with the unloading and take appropriate action
P9 report any infringements of compatibility, safety or security
