Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to implement configuration activities for explosive substances and/or articles in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can implement the configuration plan according to its requirements. Reporting any problems and/or nonconformities promptly, to line management in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involvesWeapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as maintenance and manufacturing operators.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 use the resources to optimum effect to complete the configuration activities
P3 establish the required configuration of the explosive substance and/or article accurately
P4 implement the configuration plan according to its requirements
P5 report any problems and/or non-conformities promptly, to line management
P6 record configuration actions taken in accordance with organizational procedures
P7 maintain the requirements of confidentiality at all times
P8 comply with the appropriate quality standards

Knowledge and Understanding

K1 the health, safety and environmental and other statutory legislation, regulations and safe working practices and procedures governing explosives and their implications for your area of work
