Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to adapt an existing trial procedure for explosive substances and/or articles in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can confirm with the customer the requirement for the trial to be carried out confirming
that there is a suitable existing adaptable trial procedure in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as test and evaluation managers.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 confirm with the customer the requirement for the trial to be carried out
P3 identify the information and factors relevant to the trial
P4 confirm that there is a suitable existing adaptable trial procedure
P5 ensure that your adaptation meets the customer’s requirement
P6 include organizational factors in addition to the customer’s requirements that are likely to add value to the outline changes
P7 obtain agreement through a peer and customer review
P8 design a trial that is fit for purpose
P9 identify other potentially valuable outcomes that could be delivered concurrently
P10 adhere to the relevant quality standards
P11 document the agreed process in the appropriate format
