Overview

This standard covers the competences you need to create the specification for the design of an explosive article in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

You will be required to demonstrate that you can determine how best your team can respond to the requirements, in terms of workload and resources. Specifying the quality assurance requirements, referencing relevant regulations and standards in accordance with approved procedures and practices.

This activity is likely to be undertaken by someone whose work role involves Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions or Explosives work activities. This includes people working as design managers and development managers.

Performance Criteria

P1 work safely at all times, complying with health and safety, environmental and other relevant regulations, legislation and guidelines
P2 ensure that the technical requirements are understood and specified
P3 check and obtain agreement that the requirements are interpreted correctly
P4 determine how best your team can respond to the requirements, in terms of workload and resources
P5 specify the quality assurance requirements, referencing relevant regulations and standards
P6 record information in accordance with organizational requirements
P7 prepare and present specifications using the correct format
P8 maintain the requirements of confidentiality at all times
