Gordon Storey
Chief Executive Officer
Gordon has come to ISSEE straight from the post of Chief of Staff at the Defence EOD and Munitions and Search School (DEMSS) at Kineton. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge of both up-to-date operational doctrine and current technology: for the last three years he has been responsible for the delivery of training to the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for the C-IED Task Force deployed in support of Op. Herrick in Afghanistan, as well as the EOD and Search Teams responsible for Homeland Security in the UK.
Alan Hatcher
Founder & Deputy Chairman
Professor Alan Hatcher enjoyed a unique military career in that he served in both the British Army, and as a commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force for 30 years. He has considerable experience in the Counter Terrorist field as both an operator and a planner and uses the knowledge gained to educate and train others in the requirements of operators in the front line fight against terrorism and crime. He is acknowledged as the first person to found a private academic institution at ISSEE for the training of personnel involved in Counter Terrorist activities. Alan is one of the leading Aviation Security Specialist in the UK.
Alan is now focussed upon developing ISSEE's international business as well as fulfilling the role of Deputy Chairman.
Terry Thompson
Chief Instructor
Terry has over 40 years experience as both an Ammunition Technician in the British Army and as an Explosives Officer with the Metropolitan Police. Terry’s military service covered EOD and C-IED operations in the United Kingdom & Northern Ireland, the Far East, Middle East and Europe. Terry possesses a level of experience and knowledge of EOD and C-IED that is virtually unprecedented anywhere in the world: he is acknowledged as one of the country’s leading experts in counter-terrorism as it relates to explosives.
Phil Myles MBE
Operations Manager
Phil has over 30 years experience in armament, aircraft and pyrotechnic environments in the Royal Air Force (RAF) and industry. Following a successful career working across a wide spectrum of trade proficiencies as a Weapons Technician, his final tour was completed in the RAF at Air Command (formally HQSTC) and his speciality was in explosives regulations and licensing (JSP 482). Phil was awarded the MBE in June 2000. Since leaving the RAF Phil has forged a career in the commercial explosives industry and is highly experienced in all matters relating to regulation, compliance and Health & Safety at work.
Tony Dedman GM
Senior Explosives Instructor
Tony was awarded the George Medal and a Mention in Dispatches for his service in Northern Ireland, where he dealt with hundreds of improvised explosive devices and booby-traps: on more than one occasion whilst under direct attack. He went on to serve for 25 years as an Ammunition Technician, seeing service in Bahrain, Oman, Belize, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands. Upon leaving the Army, Tony was appointed Principal Professional Technology Officer with the Anti Terrorist Branch of the Metropolitan Police in Central London and had a critical role in the fight against crime and terrorism, during which he rendered safe a variety of explosive devices aimed at domestic and foreign targets. In 2009 and 2010 Tony instructed and mentored EOD & IEDD Operators for both the ANA and ANP at the EOD School at Muzar-e-Sharif in Afghanistan.
Steve Mockett
Counter Terrorism Instructor
Steve Mockett is a Counter Terrorism (CT) and Security Subject Matter Expert (SME). He is a former Household Cavalryman who went on to serve for 15 years in the Anti-Terrorist Branch of the London Metropolitan Police, where he investigated and tracked IED events worldwide for the Police and other UK Agencies. He retired in 2007 after 34 years combined service. In his last assignment he served as head the UK Bomb Data Centre and has served as an international trainer and expert speaker. Steve joined ISSEE in order to help develop the CT side of the business, as well as instruct on WIT, PBSM and the growing range of relevant CT courses.
Lynn Rudd
Office Manager
Lynn's background has prepared her well for her role at ISSEE with a blend of managing customer relationships, the full range of administration management, insight into human resource management and professional development. Lynn’s exceptional organisational skills, her understanding of the wider explosives industry and her attention to detail ensure the smooth running and administration of ISSEE’s busy schedule of training. She is acknowledged by clients, students and instructors alike to be the ‘lynchpin’ of the organisation.
