This counter-terrorism training day is aimed at Security Managers of public spaces and those employers wanting to formalise their employees’ security or counter-terrorism training. On satisfactory completion of this course, the delegate will have a basic understanding of the power of explosives, IEDs, their potential for harm and the immediate actions required to ensure the safety of themselves and others.
The course will introduce delegates to the effects of explosives, their types and characteristics and also how to recognise these and other weapons which may be used to promote terror.
It will also demonstrate to delegates to the importance of having evacuation plans, regular staff briefings and exercises, and also how to liaise effectively with the emergency services.
This counter-terrorism training day is presented as series of lectures, practical activities and includes a live explosives demonstration as appropriate.

At the end of the course, each delegate will receive a Recognition of Terrorist Threat Awareness Certificate from ISSEE, contributing to the duty of care security managers face in protecting their staff and customers.
