This 5 day course is designed to introduce students to the basic requirements for storing Explosives, Substances & Articles (ESA) in accordance with statutory legislation.
Organisations engaged in the Explosives Sector are required to satisfy the requirements of Explosives Regulations 2014 (ER 2014) or Joint Service Publication (JSP 482). Both sets of regulations call for the demonstration of an individuals training and competency for the work and JSP 482 specifically requires that this must be demonstrated against the standards of best practice and these are the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Explosives Substances & Articles (ESA).
The course is largely aimed at individuals who will become responsible for the safe storage of explosives and munitions and who have little or no formal knowledge of explosives. It is also appropriate for other more experienced explosives workers who need to formalise their vocational qualifications through an academic award.
The student must be proficient in the English Language.

On satisfaction completion of the course, the student will be aware of their personal responsibilities and have the knowledge and understanding to manage the safe storage of explosives. The student will receive an ISSEE and City & Guilds certification to this effect which may be used as proof of Continued Personal Development.
This course is available publicly and for in country presentation. If required, its scope and content can be customised and made appropriate for the existing experience and previous training of the nominated students and for the specific activities of the organisation.
