Job Opportunity: Finance Manager

Salary: £42k - £49k

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Status: Permanent, will consider temp to perm

Location: Enstone, Chipping Norton

A world-class leader providing explosives & security consultancy and training services to national and international Defence industry is seeking a Finance Manager, who will contribute to the company’s growth plans.

The role reports to the CEO and will support the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team in the provision of accurate, timely management information.

A key element of the role is to integrate with the wider business team and fully partake in Senior Management meetings.

In this role you will be managing 1 member of staff and you will be responsible for the following:

Management of daily, weekly and monthly financial ledgers including monthly profit and loss and balance sheet reconciliations, preparation and review of management accounts and board papers.

Weekly, monthly and annual cash-flow analysis and forecasts and cash management with CEO and non-exec FD.

Credit Control when appropriate and by communication with sales team and CEO

VAT reviews

Input to proposal costing where appropriate and required by Sales team to ensure proposals meet

Production of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts with a full variance analysis; preparation of draft annual statutory accounts ready for final audit and submission

Overseeing all tax and regulatory/compliance issues.

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies with the Company Senior Management to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Company Secretarial responsibilities, ensuring Companies House filings are made in a timely manner to include annual returns, and information relevant for filing.

Motivating and developing the team.

Essential for the post:

  • Ideally you will be ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified with a minimum of five years’ commercial experience, although qualified by experience will be considered.
  • Experienced use of accounting packages.
  • Process driven with experience of project management concepts

Desirable for the post

  • Advanced knowledge of Sage Line 50.
  • Experience of using Salesforce
